Weekly update, sort of

Nothing too fancy.
Still waiting for an answer to the job interview I had last week. Don't know when I'll get one.
Went to a local lace museum with my family, in Caudry. it one of the last towns in France where they still fabricate tulle and lace. There were having an exposition my mother absolutely wanted to see. We managed to get there in time too see the old machines work, which was impressive, but very noisy. And it was only one machine. Must have been hard to work in a room full of them in the 19th and early 20th without becoming totally deaf.
The exposition in itself wasn't bad; lot of pretty dress, with a Venetian inspiration. There was also a sample of the lace used for the wedding dress of Kate Middleton. It was rather nice :)
Come to think, a few years ago, we had visited the place, and they were laready exposing nice models. Most notably, they had the dress of one of the characters in the movie 'La Folie des Grandeurs' (here's a photo; the black robe in the fourth one)
I took some photos with my phone, but I can't transfer them -_-
My sister took some more with her ipod, but so far, she hadn't taken the time to give me a copy. I hope to post them over here as soon as possible.
Also went to Cambrai to find a dress for my cousin's wedding in three weeks. Found one I liked. Actually, found two, one for the wedding, and another for the party my aunt is going to organize for her 60th birthday. I was lucky to find them; the shop didn't exactly have models for slightly overweight people.
Had some troubles with gypsies; well, troubles... Our neighbour noticed they were cutting down a tree behind our houses, and stopped them, since they had no business doing that. Turned out later that the tree was dead anyway, so there's technically no harm... but it certainly made some people rant.
Ah, and I started writing a fic for the tfic_contest. I hadn't written a word in months, and suddenly, blam! The inspiration struck, and hard. I've been working on it for most of the evening.People wanting a follow up to 'Spark Deep' could get their wish. Hush, that's a secret! Currently at 7500 words and it's still going on. I'll need a Beta reader once it's over; would someone be interested?
I really, really need one, because it's a long fic.

I know there are some typos here and there (already corrected some, but alwyas find more), and probably some awkward phrasing. I do my best, but well...
