So we browsed over the Lego stand. Now, how about the rest of the JE and the Comic Con?
Let's start with something fun, like Ghostbusters \o/

They're definitely afraid of no ghosts... nor, I hope, of some of the vampires and zombies prowling the alleys.
Oh, remember these Lego scene of Star Wars? Well, people have put a lot of work in doing actual decors of the movie :)
These last two years, we had this:

This year, however, they changed things a bit and, like with Lego, Tatooine was once again the main inspiration:

But there wasn't only Jabba; take a look at this:

The paradise for SW fans, I guess :)
With all those photos, you'd think the festival was only about Star Wars. It wasn't. Even if you could just feel the influence sometimes. I don't think I ever saw a real Predator look like that >_>

Darth Maul was spooky; that cross between his looks and a Predator mask is even spookier O_O
Speaking of spooky, please check the inscription and DON'T OPEN THE DOORS:

Warning: Zombies behind... and around somewhere. I sure saw a lot during the festival.
How about something nicer now? Like dresses and kimonos and lamps and cute video games characters?

Pretty lamps... Want!

Just look at those amazing posters that decorated or were for sale in some of the various booth in the 'Young Designers' section of the festival! So, so pretty... To say nothing of the jewellery booths, for example.
In some case, it's paintings for sale, like here:

And dolls collections too:

Then you have origami creations lurking in corners:

Of course, it's mostly personal creations put on display. But you also have the official goodies sellers. You got a bit of everything, from Nightmare Before Christmas figurines to tee-shirts. I haven't bough one this year, but it was very tempting.

What can I say? I'm fond of Sailor Moon :)
BTW, My Little Pony had a lot of fan; I saw several groups of people with costumes themed like the main characters, especially Rainbow Dash. Don't have photos of them, though :(
Now, a festival like that means cosplayers. But you don't have to make your own: various booths will be happy to sell you whole costumes or accessories such as hats and wigs. Ofifical ones or pure creations, take your pick:

In some case, you can even buy more medieval themed costumes, or weapons.

And finally, you have the various expositions you can discover in various corners of the main hall. This years, the main ones were on Neon Genesis Evangelion, on Tatsunoko Productions and on Tetsuo Hara, the mangaka who created, among other, Hokuto no Ken. And, wow! They did great things!

The back wall of the Tatsunoko Production studio, with Gatchaman.

That Eva-01 model was 2,09 meters high!
But the best? That statue of Raoh on his horse: it's huge!

I'm going to stop here, too much to see or talk about. Next time: the cosplays! \o/

Date: 2013-07-06 04:45 pm (UTC)Do you have any idea who the characters are on the black (presumably a) shirt? It's one of your middle pictures, and I do not recognize them at all. The girl looks a bit like Sleeping Beauty, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

It's Revolutionary Girl Utena. Both characters, Anthy Himemiya with the dress and Utena Tenjou with the uniform, are girls, the 'princess' and her 'knight/prince'.
